Job Summary:

AWS is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Clinical Services to join our leadership

team. The Director of Clinical Services will oversee and enhance the clinical aspects of the

organization, providing supervision and support to all licensed clinicians, maintaining a small

caseload, and leading the development and implementation of clinical programs. This role is

pivotal in ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a culture of excellence in patient care, and

driving program growth and diversification. The Director will work closely with the Practice

Manager to integrate clinical needs with operational workflows, improve quality assurance

measures, and develop strategies for staff satisfaction and retention. This is an opportunity to

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the licensing process and ensure compliance with state and federal standards.
  • Provide, or direct, the clinical supervision and support of our licensed clinicians.
  • Maintain a small caseload to ensure high-quality direct client services.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new clinical programs and services.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and service delivery needs to drive program growth.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to integrate clinical needs with operational workflows.
  • Conduct trainings and presentations to enhance clinical knowledge and practices.
  • Represent AWS at conferences, community meetings, and other public forums.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance measures and evaluate service effectiveness.
  • Collaborate on strategies for staff satisfaction and retention.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related clinical field.
  • Active Maine licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Pastoral Counselor, Licensed Clinical, Social Worker (LCSW), Conditional Clinical Social Worker (CSW-IP), or licensed psychologist. Must be able to provide clinical supervision in Maine.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of clinical and managerial experience in behavioral health care settings.
  • Exceptional leadership communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.

Requirements:
  • Current Maine license or LCSW and CCS or the ability to obtain your CCS within 6 months.
  • At least 5 or more years in management experience.
  • Strong clinical expertise and a passion for behavioral health and substance use services.
  • Excellent leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Proven program development and project management experience.
