POSITION SUMMARY:
The Behavioral Technician will provide direct instruction to students in the school and
related settings. The Behavioral Technician will apply instruction related to IEP goals/benchmarks, as well as the
implementation of behavior support plans. Methods of teaching that the behavior technician will apply are based upon
the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).The Behavioral Technician will assist Behavior Analysts, Special
Education Teachers, and other team members with daily/direct instruction, programming, and data collection.
Essential components of this position are listed below. This job description describes essential job functions, but does
not provide an exhaustive list of duties that may be assigned. Specific duties & responsibilities will vary depending
upon classification.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
● Provide direct instruction in 1:1 and/or small group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and
natural environment training arrangements.
● Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior support plan guidelines outlined by the Behavior
Analyst and team members.
● Follow and record data for prescribed adaptive learning skills (when needed).
● Collect, and record, data on targeted behaviors to increase/decrease.
● Effectively communicate with service providers regarding individual progress as instructed by the Board Certified
Behavior Analyst.
● Maintain client confidentiality
● Assist Special Education Teacher and Behavior Analysts in preparing instructional materials for direct instruction.
● Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming, and organized work and therapy environment.
● Collaborate with the treatment team including related service providers.
● Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training sessions.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
● Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
● Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and all service
providers.
● Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the
Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
● Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws.
