Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Clerical Associate III assigned to Diagnostic Cardiology department and Outpatient Registration. Performs all duties related to registration and scheduling appointments.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnostic Suite - PFT Lab and Clinic, EKG, Echo, Fetal Echo, Holter monitors and EEG
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct patient interviews to obtain identifying information, such as demographic, biographic and insurance status for Registration/Check-In. Ensure information is entered accurately into the EPIC system
- Answer telephone in a timely and professional manner.
- Scan insurance cards, Photo ID and other supporting documentation into EPIC
- Schedule appointments.
- Obtain signatures on registration forms including TPO, Bill of Rights, HIPPA Notice of Privacy, Health Care Proxy and General Consents.
- Enroll patients into Imprivata Scanner system and MyChart.
- Review/Pre-Register patient information in EPIC based on documentation provided by patients.
- Provide guidance to patients in regards to hospital policy, such as the documents requirements for insurance screening and/or financial screening.
- Facilitate communication between staff and hospital services.
- Provide clerical support to Ambulatory Departments.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and
2. Six (6) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience and/or experience interacting with the public, such as processing sales; taking, processing, and delivering orders; obtaining and dispensing information; listening to and resolving customers concerns, problems, and complaints; and/or performing related customer service activities.
