General Summary of Position
MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital is adding a Specialty Clinical Pharmacist to their team in Baltimore, MD.

The Specialty Clinical Pharmacist collaborates with providers to ensure safe and effective use of specialty medications and improves communication among the patient's healthcare team by reviewing and evaluating clinical guidelines, formulating protocols, conducting medication reconciliation, creating patient care plans and providing patient consultation that will improve patient medication adherence, health, well-being and knowledge. Documents and reports on healthcare-related interventions and outcomes. Participates in the process of maintaining specialty pharmacy accreditation.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
  • Doctoral degree PharmD from an accredited college of Pharmacy required

Experience
  • 3+ years of direct patient care experience in a clinical role, preferably in a specialty pharmacy required
  • Ambulatory care experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications
  • PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in Maryland required
  • Eligibility for reciprocity to surrounding states, as required for practice
  • Completion of an ASHP accredited residency or other approved advanced training program preferred
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialty certification (BPS), or other approved certification like Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP), AAHIVP preferred

  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
