Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist II to join our team at Johns Hopkins Hospital. As a Clinical Pharmacist II, you will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services, including medication recommendations, medication order review and verification, and code/trauma response in the Adult Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication recommendations, medication order review and verification, and code/trauma response in the Adult Emergency Department.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary health care team to promote wellness, maintain current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness.
  • Promote the safe and effective use of medications by consulting with other health care professionals concerning problems and instructs patients and families on their medications.
  • Provides education to patients, students, residents, and pharmacists.
  • Work schedule is 7 days on / 7 days off. 12-hour nights x 6 nights per week and one 8-hour night 1x per week.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm D. or BS degree.
  • Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum three years of clinical health-system experience or equivalent is required.
  • Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required.
  • Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties or a certification deemed appropriate for the practitioner's practice setting by Division Director is required within 2 years of start date.
  • Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire.
  • ACLS and/or PALS certification is desired.
