Outcome and Evaluation VISTA

For one year, get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable hands-on experience and prepare for your future. This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset.

AmeriCorps VISTA members are Volunteers in Service to America who perform indirect service to build capacity and sustainable solutions.

What will you do?

This position will work closely with the Habitat for Humanity Charlotte Region (HCR) Outcome and Evaluation Manager to identify and measure the impacts of the organization's programs as well as manage internal and external research projects. This role will engage in Habitat Charlotte's vision of 'a world where everyone has a decent place to live' by exploring how program design, research, and data usage can be leveraged to help families and communities with limited access to opportunities.

* Develop sustainable systems or programs that will address the needs of the local Habitat.
* Develop systems to accurately track and record project related data and results, focused on ensuring sustainability and communicating results to stakeholders.
* Develop documentation processes, materials and procedures for coalition activities.

This position will focus on research, monitoring, and/or evaluation aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

* Activities and attractions: Our offices and AmeriCorps apartments are less than 15 minutes away from uptown Charlotte, a three-hour drive from the beaches of North and South Carolina, and a two-hour drive from the Blue Ridge Mountains. Charlotte offers a wide range of entertainment options including many museums, parks, and restaurants. The city is home to several professional sports teams, including the NFL's Carolina Panthers and the NBA's Charlotte Hornets. Additionally, Charlotte hosts a variety of cultural events and festivals throughout the year.
* Unique projects: The Project Development VISTA will learn all about our Habitat affiliate's programming including New Home Construction, Existing Homes Renovations, Critical Home Repair, Volunteer and Partner Programming, and 'Money Matters' Financial Literacy classes. The VISTA will have the opportunity to engage will all departments of Habitat Charlotte Region.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens or is a person residing in a state that have the following legal residency classifications: refugee, asylum or asylee, temporary protected status, or deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status. Applicants must be at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
