Position Overview:

MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc is in search of a Clinical Laboratory Specialist/Medical Technologist (CLS/MT) to conduct diagnostic assessments in accordance with physician directives under the guidance of the Clinical Director.

This position requires a level of expertise commensurate with the individual’s education, training, and experience, including the upkeep of laboratory apparatus, performing quality evaluations, and effectively managing workload.

The role may involve mentoring laboratory personnel and students with the laboratory director's consent.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a positive atmosphere to enhance departmental effectiveness.
  • Engage in ongoing education to embrace new methodologies and innovations.
  • Perform venipuncture competently across diverse patient demographics, ensuring specimen integrity.
  • Conduct precise testing in assigned departments and manage troubleshooting processes.
  • Comply with standard operating procedures for quality assurance, document corrective measures, and make informed decisions regarding patient outcomes.
  • Process proficiency samples, document critical values, and uphold confidentiality in result dissemination.
  • Participate in competency evaluations and professional growth initiatives.
  • Maintain certification and actively engage in educational sessions and meetings.
  • May involve training new staff or students.
  • Utilize computer systems and laboratory information systems effectively.
  • Collaborate constructively with a diverse range of patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Support the mission of the Medical Center and maintain consistent attendance.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Registered CLS/MT with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT or equivalent) or eligible within six (6) months.
  • Proficient in operating laboratory equipment and interpreting findings.
  • Strong communication skills with patients, medical personnel, and clients.
  • Ability to cater to patients of all ages and comprehend their needs and limitations.
  • Knowledge of laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Self-driven with the capability to work within established guidelines.
