POSITION TITLE: Child & Family Advocate, Greene-Hills K-8 School

DEPARTMENT: Family Resource Center

REPORTS TO: Director of Family Resource Center

SUMMARY:

The FRC Child and Family Advocate will implement support services to school age youth/families including working with students and parents. FRC Advocate completes tasks needed to ensure the successful delivery of services, such as organizing arts & crafts, fliers, bulletin boards, and updates on our FRC web and facebook pages. Advocate offers support services in the before/after school program located at the school and outreach to working parents

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Ensures Play & Learn Group supplies area available and ready for parents and children
* Ensures working parents are aware of FRC program and services and links these parents to community resources.
* Assist with the implementation of family events and programming throughout the school year.
* If Bilingual, assist with translation and support to non-English speaking families.
* Other responsibilities as required by Site Coordinator/Program Director and or Development Director located at their school site.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

* High School Diploma is required. Associates degree is preferred
* Experience working directly with parents and school age children.
* A good understanding of economic and cultural diversity issues.
* Good writing and communications skills and the ability to accurately enter data in electronic software systems.

Salary: $16.00 per hour no benefits school schedule Work Hours: Part Time 20-25 hours per week, 8:30am to 1:30pm OR 9:00am to 2:00pm
