Responsibilities
Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies
* Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
* Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
* Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
* Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
* Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Processe equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures.
* Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration
* BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
* Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
* Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
* Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
Education:
* High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
