Respiratory Therapist - Critical Care Specialist

At Adventhealth Avista, we are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As a Respiratory Therapist - Critical Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in evaluating and caring for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment, monitoring patient condition and recording and communicating patient status.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
  • BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner certification from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation required within 4 months of hire date.
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred.

  • Competitive hourly rate of $52.19 per hour.
  • Full-time position with 36 hours per week.
