Job Summary

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

Spiffy is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This individual will work closely with the Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller and will play a crucial role in the day-to-day financial operations, contributing to the overall accuracy of the Company’s financial reporting structure.

Responsibilities

Balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, debt, prepaids, payroll, and other accruals
Perform detailed review of vendor bills, credit card expenses, and payments processed by staff
accountant
Reconcile transactions in sales tax software (Avalara) and credit card software to ERP system
(NetSuite)
Prepare journal entries for payroll, debt, prepaids, and other accounts as needed
Prepare monthly bonus calculations
Work cross functionally with other Spiffy departments, including HR, operations and engineering
Advise management on accounting implications of certain transactions and budget
variances/trends
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting regulations, internal controls, and company
policies, and champion process improvements
Support tax and audit compliance by compiling and preparing supporting information as
requested
Assist management with other critical projects as needed

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline
3+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or public accounting
General understanding of US GAAP
Strong time management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned areas
Proactively organized, detail oriented, and works with a high degree of accuracy
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to master new technologies
