Director of Quality Control

B.L. Harbert International is looking for a Director of Quality Control to work with the International Group in Birmingham, Alabama. The Director of Quality Control will develop, implement and direct the corporate quality control program. Candidate will act as a resource for project managers, site quality control managers and quality control field personnel. Candidate will be required to visit job sites regularly for the purpose of quality control audits.Responsibilities:Coordinate with the Project Engineer and the Construction Superintendent in all matters related to the fieldRepresent BLHI in all matters pertaining to Quality Control with the clientManage the review and evaluation of technical requirements and documents for specified quality criteriaDevelop and manage QC inspection and test procedures and instructions for all tradesMonitor on-site and off-site QC facilities and activities assuring compliance with test procedure requirementsOversee and manage the QC staff to ensure that all contract requirements are being metManage Quality Control inspections for all trades including closures and punch-listsManage project close-out and commissioning activitiesUpdate and maintain the QC Plan, to include all documentation relevant to the implementation of the QC Program on and off siteConsolidate and issue daily QC reporting for all trades for the project recordRequirements:US citizenAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the US GovernmentAbility to travel internationally to support the project sitesUndergraduate Degree in an Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related10+ years' experience in the field of Construction Quality ControlExperience in high-end, high-rise, commercial construction projectsPreferences:Experience in highly technical Department of Defense or Department of State projectsExperience as QC Manager on a successful DOD or DOS project overseasExperience with the USACE QMS programProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteACI CertificationPhysical Demands:To perform the duties of this job, the employee must:Have the ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overheadHave the ability to stoop, bend, walk, kneel, crouch and crawlHave the ability to lift, carry and/or move up to 25 lbs. of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc.Have the ability to sit for extended periods with occasional standing requiredPossess the manual dexterity to operate office equipment, filing, and perform specialized skillsPossess a high degree of concentration necessary in a busy office environmentWork Environment: To perform the duties of this job, the employeeMust be able to work in an office environmentMust have flexibility with hours in order to better accommodate business needsB.L.
