The Institute of Living, one of the first mental health centers in the U.S., remains one of America’s leading not-for-profit centers for patient care, research and education in the fields of behavioral, psychiatric and addiction disorder. Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provide patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.

Job Summary

Provides quality, cost-effective inpatient/outpatient care for patients/families and/or others in a target population across the continuum of care by assuring access, providing assessment, coordinating required resources, and partnering with health care team members. By utilizing excellent communication and negotiation skills, focuses on providing the appropriate service in the most cost-effective formula to assure that the patient, provider, payor and health organization's goals are met. Reports to Unit Manager/Program Manager.


Seeking a licensed clinician to work within our ambulatory department providing group therapy services for PHP and IOP levels of care.  The candidate has the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team and work with several diverse programs.  The candidate would be part of a behavioral health community that offers comprehensive services from inpatient  to outpatient care.  Our outpatient services are located on the campus of the Institute of Living in in Hartford, CT.  With 200 years of serving members of the community with behavioral health needs, we have grown into one of the leading centers for behavioral healthcare in the Hartford area.  Our model of care derives from commitment to scientific advances, respect for the individual and creation of therapeutic collaboration between patients and staff members.  The expertise and compassion of staff translates into healing experiences.

Qualifications


  • LCSW, LMFT, PhD, or PsyD licensed to practice in the state of CT.
  • Ability to meet requirements for internal credentialing in individual and group or family therapy required.
  • Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age specific patient needs.
