JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Individual Giving, the Development Coordinator supports the Fund Development team cross-functionally to meet and exceed fundraising goals for the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. This position will execute annual campaigns, donor stewardship initiatives, and recurring giving through oversight of the On My Honor Society and Silver Society. This position will assist the Development Operations Manager with timely and accurate data entry into the Raiser's Edge donor database and by generating prompt and accurate acknowledgments for all gifts received by Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. The coordinator plays a critical role in nurturing donor relationships, by assisting with Council events, donor research and prospecting, and special projects as requested. The Development Coordinator will work collaboratively throughout the Council to support key priorities of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and foster a culture of philanthropy with parents, alums, members, and volunteers by providing opportunities to financially support the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, Spring Renewal donations, Adopt-a-Horse, End of Year Giving, Volunteer Service Grants, and matching and employee gifts.
  • Assists with initiatives to increase peer-to-peer fundraising support to meet fundraising goals and widen our network of supporters.
  • Enters gift and constituent data into Raiser's Edge according to procedures determined by the Development Operations Manager, assuring all data entry is timely and accurate.
  • Manages and issues gift acknowledgments and stewardship to donors.
  • Reports regularly and interfaces with internal stakeholders about shared council initiatives.
  • Assists with prospect research and data entry related to cultivation and constituent relationship tracking.
  • Tracks and reports on Service Unit fundraising and provides training and resources to Service Unit Annual Fund Chairs.
  • Provides excellent customer service phone and e-mail support to donors with questions, requests, and complaints.
  • Assists with the preparation and mailing of personalized pledge reminders on a monthly basis.
  • Manages an organized, efficient, and effective filing system so historic giving and engagement information can be leveraged for cultivation and relationship building purposes.
  • Oversees stewardship and donor retention initiatives like the Girl Scout Gazette email newsletter, holiday emails, birthday cards, thank you notes, donor spotlights, etc.
  • Develops, creates, and seeks out new and better ways to conduct the position's duties while striving to make work processes more efficient and effective.
  • Respects the confidential nature of all information pertaining to donors, staff, volunteers, and girls.
  • Research new technologies and identify ideas from other organizations that could be used to strengthen our annual fundraising efforts.
  • Provides ongoing support to the Fund Development Team.
  • Executes other duties as assigned.

  • Required attendance at events as necessary in support of the Council's mission, which may include some nights and weekends.
