About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Caregiver Specialist to join our team at United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia. As a member of our care team, you will provide exceptional support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.
Job Summary:
The Personal Support Assistant will assist individuals with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, personal care, and household chores. You will also help with transportation, medication management, and communication with healthcare providers. Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks, and encourage hydration
- Help with household chores, including laundry, cleaning, and organization
- Transport individuals to appointments and activities, ensuring safe and timely arrival
- Manage medications, track vital signs, and report any changes in condition to healthcare providers
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
- Document all care activities, including shifts, treatments, and progress notes
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Assistant (PCA) certification preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field desired
- At least two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and prioritize tasks while adhering to deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications relevant to documentation and communication
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
