Position Overview:
The Academic Administrator plays a pivotal role in overseeing both academic operations and student affairs within the institution. They are responsible for maintaining educational standards, supporting faculty and students, and ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment through effective student support services and disciplinary measures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty to develop and update curriculum materials, ensuring alignment with educational standards and objectives.
  • Academic Planning: Assist in the planning and scheduling of courses, examinations, and academic events to optimize student learning experiences.
  • Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students regarding academic matters, including course selection, academic performance, and graduation requirements.
  • Faculty Support: Support faculty members in delivering effective instruction by providing resources, training, and assistance with instructional technology.
  • Academic Policies: Interpret and enforce academic policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines and regulations.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Oversee the assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes, using data to inform decision-making and improve academic programs.
  • Academic Records: Maintain accurate academic records, including student transcripts, grades, and course evaluations.
  • Academic Advising: Offer academic advising services to students, helping them set academic goals, identify resources, and navigate academic challenges.
  • Student Affairs: Develop and implement student support services and programs to promote student engagement, retention, and success.
  • Student Conduct: Monitor student behavior and enforce disciplinary measures as necessary, providing guidance and support to students to promote personal responsibility and accountability.
  • Conflict Resolution: Mediate conflicts and disputes among students, faculty, and staff, promoting resolution and reconciliation in accordance with institutional guidelines.
  • Crisis Management: Respond to disciplinary incidents, emergencies, and crisis situations in a timely and appropriate manner, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure student safety and well-being.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other administrative departments, such as admissions, academic advising, and finance, to support the overall mission and goals of the institution.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, with years of experience in a school setting, educational leadership, or a related field. (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in academic administration and student affairs within an educational institution.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment practices, academic standards, and student support services.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with educational technology, data analysis tools, and crisis management protocols.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.

Other Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design/development of the layout for various forms, reports, and professional development guides.
  • Organize assigned work so both short-term and long-term projects are completed when due.
  • Proficient use of computer software and proactive acquisition of skills for new technology, i.e. Microsoft Office.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, and appointments, including details about meeting preparation, and prepare potential travel arrangements.
  • Report to the Head of school.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Directors, or Head of School.
  • Assist in recruiting students and perform walk-through tours.
  • Onboard new Students. 
  • Assist with classroom management and routine. (maybe ask to sub a class)  
  • Track student and staff attendance.
  • Manage school processes and procedures to ensure compliance with school and District regulations.
  • Enroll and withdraw students from school by school and district procedures.
  • Meet with new students and parents to complete the registration and orientation process.
  • Serve as a central information point to the public, students, and staff regarding school-related matters and procedures.
  • Answer incoming calls, provide information, direct calls where necessary, and take messages.
  • Greet visitors, handle inquiries, and direct visitors to the appropriate destination.
