Jewish Hospital – Is an internationally renowned, high-tech tertiary referral center, developing leading-edge advancements in hand and microsurgery, heart and lung care, orthopedics, and sports medicine, neuroscience, organ transplantation and outpatient care. The hospital is the site of the world’s first successful hand transplant and AbioCor® implantable replacement heart procedures, in addition to the first trial of adult cardiac stem cells in chronic heart failure.
Jewish Hospital offers the most advanced technology for minimally invasive, robotic surgery including the da Vinci Xi, used for cardiac, general surgery, urologic, head and neck, and colorectal procedures, the Monarch Platform, a fully integrated bronchoscope for early detection of lung cancer, and Stryker’s MAKO roboticarm for total joint replacement of the knee and hip. Part of Jewish Hospital, UofL Health – Trager Transplant Center is a nationally recognized transplant center offering heart, lung, liver, kidney, living donor, pancreas, and vascularized composite allografts (hand only) transplantation. As an advanced organ disease center, our multidisciplinary team of physicians and experts treat complex organ failure with live-saving procedures like the implantation of ventricular assist devices (VAD) and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as well as organ transplantation. Job Summary
In this role, we're searching for an engaged individual who is skilled in clinical operations that will be a key driver to assist in achieving nurse-driven quality outcomes. Reporting to the Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer in collaboration with medical staff leadership, this individual is accountable for the day-to-day of outpatient/inpatient nursing services operations, with oversight of nursing professional practice.

The ACNO also:
• Identifies areas of potential care redesign and will lead initiatives to meet objectives of improved efficiencies, effectiveness, and patient experience
• Provides administrative direction to management staff within areas of responsibility including supporting plan development, priority-setting, decision-making, and professional development
• Assists and supports the CNO daily
• Supports the VP/CNO in the planning of meetings, events, and other assignments
Other Functions:
• Serves as role model and resource for professional colleagues. Participates in leadership activities such as committees, professional organizations, publishing, teaching, and research
• Presents a courteous and helpful demeanor, appropriate for age, to all patients, visitors, other UofL Health employees/medical staff members, or any other person an employee encounters while representing UofL Health
• Develops, recommends, implements, and monitors contracts for services
• Assures adequate and competent staffing support to nursing services
• Helps with other projects as delegated by the VP/CNO
• Participates in community activities on behalf of the hospital. Assists in community health events and education as needed
• Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
• Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education:
• Master’s Degree in Nursing, Administration, Education, or other Leadership field (required); If Master’s Degree in other discipline outside of Nursing, then a bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
Experience:
• Clinical practice in an acute care environment, preferably in an academic medical setting (required).
• 5+ years of clinical and supervisory experience in a director level capacity or relevant experience required.
