We are a very well-established and busy organization in the Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics Engineering Industry seeking an entry-level Sales Application Engineer to join our winning team in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, will have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, and will be seeking a long term career opportunity offering lots of room for growth and advancement.
The Sales Application Engineer interfaces with customers, gathers and applies the requirements of relevant design specifications, performs engineering analysis, generates proposals, wins contracts, then interfaces with designers and key manufacturing personnel to see the order through completion in our in-house fabrication facilities. The Sales Application Engineer is empowered to make decisions and expected to navigate the trade-offs in design, performance, and cost implications. There is a steady variety of projects that keeps the work interesting and provides new opportunities to learn and solve problems.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the single point of contact for existing & new customers by providing them with designs, quotations, and on-going service support.
  • Develop prospective accounts by understanding the prospect’s needs and proposing designs and service offerings.
  • Own the design from concept through delivery: provide specifications to SolidWorks designers, advise manufacturing, and coordinate with materials requirements as necessary.
  • Be an active participant in our Sales & Engineering team that supports fluctuations in workload and contributes to each other’s professional development.
  • Travel expectations are 6-8 times per year, 1-3 days per trip.

Position Qualifications:Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related.
  • 1-3 years professional work experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or similar industry.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable and comfortable handling multiple priorities - balancing urgent tasks with progress on important tasks.
  • Self-directed and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about engineering, sales, relationships, and our products.
