Let me be very clear with my introductory paragraph.

If you do not have a lot of experience in managing operations associated with millwork/logistics/warehouse & supply DO NOT apply. We are a Millwork company. We will begin making our own doors in Sept 2024 and will continue to expand our operations/warehouse to accommodate the growth plan. 

I am not looking to give someone a "chance". We need someone who knows what they are doing with supply millwork management and can prove to us in their interview and their resume these five things:
  • You have led a company(s) to become more profitable with solution driven ideas.
  • You have helped a company(s) create standard operating procedures and are great at ensuring your teams training, implementation and follow through on the SOP.
  • Your leadership creates a peaceful environment because you communicate clear expectations, address areas of improvement or failure immediately and people still enjoy working for you.
  • Customer service is the highest priority.
  • You solve problems. We are known for solving problems this industry faces all the time. 

Who we are:Abel Door & Trim. We are a growing material supply/labor supply company in the construction market for DFW. We supply doors, trim, stairs, millwork, windows to home builders in the market. 
I started the company 3.5 years ago with a pickup truck, 5,000Sqft warehouse and no background in this industry. Our projections for year-end 2024 is $6million. With another $10million booked for 2025. We are becoming a turn key company. Meaning we don't just drop off materials any longer, we have crews who also install the materials. This is a highly requested service in our market and we are one of two companies that offer it. The other company is Arrowhead Stairs and Trim who has proven the industry desires a turn key solution. However most markets do better when there is more than one provider.
Job Description:It’s crucial that you have many years of experience managing operations for a supply chain company. 

I need someone I can fully trust to get this business to turn the corner from a startup to a corporation. Sales are not my problem. Managing our warehouse team, coordinating our purchases and creating cohesiveness within processes is our problem. I have a great group of people in place but I am doing them a disservice if I continue to try to run everything myself.

They need SOPs and we need to build in KPIs to measure all the details. You need to create systems or know of systems that allow us to have extremely accurate data and predictions so we can make quick decisions. A back ground in accounting/purchasing would greatly help your interview chances. 
Systems:My teams uses 3 primary software systems.
  • Inflow to create proposals, track pick tickets and generate invoice and manage warehouse inventory stock.
  • Hyphen Solutions to manage our customers jobs (store plans, job notes, changes and conversations).
  • Company Cam to provide proof of delivery and installation with pictures that are sent directly to the customer.

Income:We have created a compensation package that is incentivized on growth and profitability. I will close sales and generate revenue which will create income streams and major opportunities for salary compensation if you can strengthen our profits and grow our margins. To the right person, we will consider an equity opportunity after a season of proof has been established. 
My ideal candidate is someone who has a lot of experience and still has a lot of drive to accomplish something new. We are one of the fastest growing companies in our industry and we have the chance to make a major impact across the State of Texas. You need to have a strong balance of innovation and technical skills. You are walking into a company that is just past startup phase but needs creative thinking.

Because of another business we have had for 15 years, we have strong relationships with builders in every major market and many of them are asking us to let us know when we have the capacity. I am not interested in getting in your way. I want to be supportive and work as a team. I am not glory hungry. I know my limits and really want someone to buy into what an amazing chance this will be for us all. This company will succeed on the efficiency of operations and communication with the customer. It doesn't matter what "promises" I make as a sales/owner. It only matters if my team can actually fulfill those expectations. The expectations from us to the customer are simple.
