School Transportation Dispatcher

West County Transportation Agency is a Joint Powers Agreement formed of seventeen school districts in Sonoma County. Our mission is to provide safe, coordinated, cost-effective and child-centered school transportation service. In addition to our member school districts we also provide services to many non-public schools throughout the county.
 This is a full-time position and the incumbent will report to the Supervisor of Transportation Operations and Safety.

The primary responsibility of a dispatcher will be: 
  • To answer phones and two-way radios.
  • Cover all routes and trips.
  • Work with other dispatchers and operations office personnel. 

Minimum qualifications include:
  • High School Diploma or GED, possession of a valid California School Bus Certificate is desired but not required. 
  • Spanish speaking bilingual is preferred.

The starting hourly rate for the position is $31.46 up to $47.76, with salary step placement consideration given for experience. The position includes a generous health and welfare package, as well as paid vacation time, accumulated sick leave and a CalPERS retirement package.
