Job Title:  Field Service Technician - Nashville, TN LocationDepartment:  Field Service.Classification: Non-Exempt.
Summary: The Field Service Technician delivers our customers with the highest level of customer service excellence, knowledge and on time maintenance and product installation. This position is responsible for prioritizing and completing installs to meet and exceed our customer's requirements for service, while advocating on behalf of the company.
Responsibilities: As the Field Service Technician you will:
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits.
  • Manage and execute all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.
  • Diagnose technical and customer issues/problems while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical training on our products.
  • Define and drive part sales though training and reviews.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations and briefings.
  • Accurately document field changes and processes in support of future product modifications, ongoing service support and potential warranty claims.
  • Establish service requirements; order and gather components and parts to complete service requests. 
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports and Sales Force ticket updates.
  • Possess strong knowledge regarding all products manufactured by United Safety and United Safety suppliers.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Perform projects, as requested, that are concerned with product offerings, product process and documentation improvement, and company growth.
  • Schedule travel efficiently and process expenses appropriately. 
  • Observe all company rules and safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you;
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a technician or equivalent mechanical ability; other relevant experience will be considered.
  • Automotive or transit experience preferred.
  • Proficient at reading blueprints and the use of hand tools or other tools.
  • Able to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
  • Able to lift 50lbs and stand for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Flexible regarding working hours and travel.
  • Able to travel extensively including weekends and overnight. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Excellent written communications skills, including the use of proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar to produce error-free copy, particularly composing letters, reports and documents used for decision making.
  • Outstanding Oral communication skills including tact and diplomacy which would be utilized during customer service, conflict management, development of relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and diverse projects including, analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, decision making and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in current computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, and understanding of ERP systems.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment, while responding and adapting to change favorably and quickly.
