Infant Teacher

Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced teacher to join our infants' teaching team.
The ideal candidates must have a CDA,  Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Children & Families as well as at least two years experience working with young children, preferably ages 6 weeks through 3 years, be a team player & have a passion for early learning & a desire to make a difference. Supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with assistant teachers to plan & implement daily lesson plans & activities.
  • Help create a safe & stimulating classroom environment for infants.
  • Monitor & engage with children during playtime, meals & other daily routines.
  • Provide individual & group support to children as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development & progress. 
  • Complete child assessments & participate in parent/teacher conferences.
  • Mentor & guide new or less experienced staff as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Have a CDA, Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Children & Families
  • Have two+ years of experience working with young children, preferably infants.
  • Must qualify as a Group Supervisor with DHS.
  • Able to pass state, federal & child abuse background checks.
  • Be 18 years or older and able to work in the United States.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
  • Must be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment.
  • Supervisory experience and/or bilingual a plus.

Position Overview:
  • This is a full-time, year-round position.
  • The pay range starts at $17.50 up to $19.50 (relative to experience & education) per hour with a pay increase based on performance & education at the end of a 90-day probation period.
  • Full-time staff also receive paid holidays, PTO, sick-time, reduced child care & more.
  • Full-time staff work a four-day work week
