Early Learning Center Infant Assistant Teacher

Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced assistant teacher to join our infants' teaching team.
The ideal candidates will have at least experience working with young children, preferably infants & toddlers, be a team player & have a passion for early learning. A Child Development Associate Certification is a plus. 

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with co-teachers to plan & implement daily lesson plans & activities.
  • Help create a safe & stimulating classroom environment for the center's infants.
  • Monitor & engage with children during playtime, meals & other daily routines.
  • Provide individual & group support to children as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development & progress.
  • Complete child assessments & participate in parent/teacher conferences.
  • Mentor new & less experienced staff.

Qualifications:
  • Two+ years experience working with young children, preferably ages 6 weeks to 2 years.
  • Must qualify as a Assistant Group Supervisor or Group Supervisor with DHS.
  • Pass state, federal & child abuse background checks.
  • Be 18 years or older & able to work in the United States.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
  • Must be patient, nurturing & able to create a positive learning environment.
  • A CDA (Child Development Associate) is a plus.

Position Overview:
  • This is a full-time, year round position.
  • Pay range starts at $16.50 up to $18 (relative to experience & education) per hour with a pay increase based on performance & education at the end of a 90 day probation period.
  • Full-time staff also receive paid holidays, PTO, sick-time,dental or vision insurance, reduced child care & more.
  • Full-time staff work a four-day work week
