Special Inspector

Responsibilities:
- Perform special inspections in accordance with the requirements outlined in Chapter 1 of Title 28 of the Administrative Code and Section 3303.10 of the NYC Building Code.
- Conduct periodic inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with the tenant protection plan throughout the course of construction, alteration, or partial demolition operations.
- Document and report conditions prior to work commencement, at the start of construction, and on a weekly basis during construction or demolition.
- Verify corrective actions for any tenant protection plan violations issued.
- Monitor changes in construction or demolition operations that may require adjustments to methods of protection.
- Record all inspections performed and indicate compliance with the tenant protection plan.
Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in special inspections, preferably in the field of tenant protection plan compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of NYC Building Codes, particularly Sections 1705.26.1 and 1705.26.2.
- Familiarity with the requirements of the NYC Department of Buildings pertaining to tenant protection plan special inspections.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively document and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism and integrity.
- Relevant certifications or licenses, such as NYC Special Inspector certifications, are highly desirable.
