Position Summary

The Manager, Data & Analytics plays an integral role in leading insight generation for the agency and advertiser client. This role is responsible for actively managing campaign reporting, informing in-flight optimizations, and building higher level learnings to inform future planning. The position requires the ability to understand the strategic communications needs of client advertisers and align these needs to the day to day issues of media planning, buying, and especially performance measurement and media optimization.


Responsibilities

  • Manage data ETL to analyze the state of our clients’ businesses across a variety of systems, channels and data sources (paid search, display media, website, social media, advertising campaigns, offline media, brand sales and brand equity)
  • Generate thoughtful and fully supported insights to illustrate a larger story surrounding media metrics and data trends
  • Apply independent, critical thinking and reasoning to data to uncover media and marketing communications opportunities that generate business results
  • Employ compelling storytelling to create reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure accuracy of the data across the team
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and performance of paid campaign advertising
  • Support the creation and communication of KPIs, research studies and measurement plans
  • Apply syndicated and proprietary research tools in support of agency and client stakeholders
  • Exceed client expectations through delivery of accurate, on-time work that is logically bullet-proof
  • Oversight of Analysts and Sr. Analysts including creating growth plans, identifying training opportunities and conducting performance evaluations


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or related experience) in a field related to mathematics, statistics, or marketing/advertising
  • 3+ years of experience in data reporting, analytics or ad research
  • Understanding of measurement resources across media planning and placement
  • Experience in written and verbal client presentations for analytic results, recommendations, POVs or predictions
  • Passion for working with databases and experience developing marketing insights that advance reporting and client deliverables
  • Understanding of data operating models, key media metrics, KPIs and industry standard data sources including databases, DCM and Google Analytics
  • Understanding of current state-of-the-industry norms, tools and innovations
  • Inductive and deductive reasoning skills
  • Understanding of research fundamentals such as sample sizes, methodology and respondent weighting
  • Passion for working with databases and manipulating numbers to develop marketing insights that advance reporting and client deliverables.
  • Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and strict QA processes
  • Experience in media research/analytics within an agency
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite of products particularly PowerPoint and Excel, including knowledge of PivotTables and complex formula


Desired Skills & Experience

  • Advanced understanding of research methodology, statistics, and math preferred
  • Solid understanding of visualization tools, SQL, Python, Google Analytics and Campaign Manager (DCM) preferred
  • AdTech (ad servers, DSP, SSP), MarTech (Salesforce, Adobe), Database (AWS, SQL Server, Snowflake) preferred
