Third Arc Bio is a VC-backed, discovery-stage biotech company with significant funding focused on discovery and development of breakthrough biologics in Oncology and Immunology. This small but experienced team is currently expanding headcount to support the next phase of growth through IND submissions and clinical development. The is an on-site position that is currently based in Philadelphia with a move to suburbs of PA anticipated by year end of 2024.
Position Summary:
This position will require the candidate to lead a small team of scientists in the Oncology large molecule discovery setting from target validation through IND enabling studies to support First-in-Human (FIH) clinical studies. They will be exclusively responsible for generating non-clinical pharmacology data packages to support global health authority (HA) filings. They will be responsible for defining critical experiments to progress lead candidate molecules to key go/no go decisions in a timely fashion. The candidate will be responsible for designing/execution of mechanistic biology studies to support a deeper scientific understanding of key assets. They will be required to collaboratively partner with external CROs to assist in advancing key internal programs. They will be responsible for presenting key findings to senior leadership team members. The candidate will be expected to mentor and train team members in designing experiments and interpretation of scientific results. The candidate will also be expected to promote both an inclusive and transparent culture that fosters scientific growth and empowerment for all respective team members.
Essential Functions:
- Knowledge of solid tumor cancer biology
- T cell biology knowledge
- Experience in drafting and editing pharmacology based scientific technical reports for clinical submissions (IND)
- Culturing and expansion PAN-T/PBMC cells and tumor cell lines.
- Flow cytometry/FACs for multi-color analysis of T cell phenotyping, activation and proliferation, and tumor cell phenotyping
- Proficient at cell- based cytotoxicity assays; Incucyte and Cell titer glo assays
- Serial T cell restimulation assays
- Cytokine assays MSD and Luminex
- Proficient with FloJo for FACs analysis
- Proficient Graphpad/Prism
Experience:
- PhD or MS/BS required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in preclinical pharmacology supporting early development of biologics in a biotech or pharmaceutical organization.
- Pre-clinical pharmacology experience with biologics in oncology is required.
- Working on T-cell based therapeutics, particularly multi-specific T-cell engagers and/or CAR-T is preferred.
