Russell Tobin & Associates is supporting a world-class hospital that has an opening for “Laboratory Support Coordinator”
Location: Cambridge, MA (Supports two Cambridge facilities and one Branford, CT location, with up to 50% travel required)
Job Type: 3 months contract with possible conversion
Job Summary:
The Laboratory Support Technician will manage and maintain lab consumables, support waste removal coordination, and handle various lab services for facilities in Cambridge, MA, and Branford, CT.
The role involves inventory management, waste removal coordination, lab safety, and handling hazardous materials, with frequent interaction with customers and site leads to ensure efficient lab operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Conduct cycle counts, restock supplies, track shipments, and resolve order issues.
- Lab Support: Coordinate waste removal, deliver chemicals to labs, handle biologically contaminated materials, and manage compressed gas orders.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, maintain RCRA certification, verify SDS documents, and complete required health, safety, and operational training.
- Customer and Team Communication: Report customer concerns to Site Lead, communicate service impacts to lab users, and proactively address safety issues.
- Emergency Support: Provide on-call support outside business hours as scheduled.
- Additional Duties: Participate in audits, inspections, and assist in other lab tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior lab support or inventory management experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret chemical labels and hazardous signage.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

- Proactive approach to improving processes and technical problem-solving.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
