Position Purpose: The Senior Principal – Data Management and Architecture will be responsible for driving the creation and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy aligned with DCG’s business goals. This will be a shared roadmap encompassing data operations, architecture, applications, and platforms designed to support the business objectives of multiple lines of business within DCG. This leadership role requires individual initiative, strong communication skills, and an ability to provide independent guidance in the best interest of the broader DCG vision. This forward-thinking individual deeply understands data management, data platforms, and emerging technologies within the data arena.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  1. Oversee and prioritize all DCG data technology groups including data operations, data services, and data applications and architecture.
  2. Develop and implement a robust data strategy aligned with the DCG’s objectives.
  3. Manage the execution of a shared data roadmap across technology teams and lines of business.
  4. Collaborate with executive leadership to align data initiatives with business goals and objectives.
  5. Oversee the end-to-end data lifecycle, from acquisition and integration to storage and disposal.
  6. Work with operational and engineering teams to implement data quality standards and processes to ensure exceptional accuracy, completeness, reliability, and discoverability of data.
  7. Build and maintain metrics of accessibility, quality, and data usage across the enterprise.
  8. Identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
  9. Lead efforts to design and implement scalable and secure data architecture patterns, leveraging and/or building best-in-class data platforms.
  10. Oversee the engineering team that builds client-facing and internal data applications for use in DCG’s data management activities.
  11. Evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies and techniques that enhance DCG’s data management capabilities.

Requirements:

  1. Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on data quality and consistency.
  2. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. BS/BA in Information Systems, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  3. Knowledge of architecture and engineering.
  4. Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. A proven track record as a successful leader.
  6. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
