DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule hazardous and non-hazardous waste pick up and disposal appointments.
  • Collect and manage containers. Prepare and move containers for shipment.
  • Complete and manage all necessary documentation associated with shipments and pickups, including analyzing lab testing reports and SDS sheets to develop profiles needed for disposal as well as generating shipping paperwork.
  • Collect and maintain data in organized, current, and accurate records.
  • Produce waste reports as requested or as instructed by company policy.
  • Collect samples from various waste streams to submit to labs for testing.
  • Devise and update waste operations processes and policies as needed.
  • Deliver training to company personnel, such as that on spillage training and environmental awareness and sustainability.
  • Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • College degree in related environmental/chemical fields preferred
  • Five (5) years’ experience in the environmental services industry experience is required.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is highly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of industry best practices, risk assessment techniques, standards, and all applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the waste and disposal fields is required.
  • All applicants must pass the following pre-employment requirements:
    • Physical including drug & alcohol screening
    • Background check in accordance with local laws and regulations

  • Effective organization and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with lab testing techniques and requirements.
  • Ability to utilize analysis to solve complex problems.
  • Highly-developed ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Frequent walking, standing, and physical activity.
  • Frequent carrying of weights from 0-50 pounds.
  • This job primarily operates in an office environment.
  • The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring the adherence to basic safety measures.
  • The work environment may involve moderate exposure to the elements, including extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
