Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced IT Technician for our client, a wonderful nonprofit organization serving children and families in Oakland, CA In this role, you’ll utilize your IT expertise to assist end users, ensuring IT systems are working well This is a 2-3 months + possible extensions, onsite contract.

  • Compensation range is $28-31/hr, depending on experience


What you will be doing:

  • End user facing tier one technical end-user support for multiple locations; documenting both issues and resolutions for all helpdesk tickets
  • Maintenance tasks such as software installation, upgrades, patches
  • Onboard IT services for new hires, including setting up new computers and reviewing all of the organization’s best practices and policies
  • Assist with security and compliance efforts, including HIPAA


What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Ability to support multiple offices in the Oakland area, 8-5 M-F
  • Valid CA driver’s license and ability to drive to different locations
  • Experience supporting users of varying levels of experience with office IT tools
  • Experience supporting Windows and MS Office
  • Experience supporting hardware including laptops, networking, WiFi, VOIP (Avaya preferred) and mobile devices
  • Customers service skills; friendly and patient demeanor
