Overview of the Payroll Specialist Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage our payroll functions and ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for our employees. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for providing exceptional service as a Payroll Specialist.
Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:
- Process payroll for a diverse workforce in accordance with company policies and regulations
- Ensure accuracy in payroll calculations, including wages, deductions, and taxes
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions
- Assist in the preparation of payroll reports and audits as a Payroll Specialist
- Collaborate with HR to update employee records and maintain accurate data
- Stay current with payroll legislation and best practices
Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Customer service skills a must
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Must have intermediate Excel skills, i.e. pivot tables, v look ups, etc.
