Senior Electronics Technician

 

You are a Senior Electronics Technician . A “Super Tech.” Heck, you do most of the engineering. You understand rugged computers and electronics that are designed for harsh environments and you know how to implement the build process based on customer specifications. Systems Integration Plus, Inc. (SIP) is a full scale systems integration company building rugged electronics and computers for the defense, aerospace and heavy industrial markets. From 19” rack based computers down to small form factor conduction-cooled systems we provide application specific electronics that operate in harsh environments in the air, on the sea and across the land.

We are a dynamic and fast-paced Scottsdale, AZ (airpark) company looking for a proto-yping technician who can take new design concepts and build first article rugged computer systems and electronics. Most of all, you will get to be part a great team involved in new innovative designs.

Your responsibilities include:

· Implementing the electro-mechanical assembly, integration and test of rugged computing systems and electronics

· Developing basic assembly aids, diagrams or drawings to assist in the setup for manufacturing

· Fully able to troubleshoot problems with single board computers, power supplies, back planes, wiring, cabling and other AC/DC related issues

· Participation in the development of customer requirements and specifications

 

Required Qualifications:

· Excellent skills in assembly, proto-typing and trouble shooting electronics and computers

· Excellent knowledge of electrical wiring and power supply integration

· Good Experience in selection of cables, connectors and various wire harness assemblies for rugged MIL/Defense applications

· Ability to create drawings and assembly aids to support system builds

· Highly skilled with tools, crimpers, soldering and other items such as DMMs, O-scopes etc...

· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

· Knowledge of IPC-610 and ISO quality systems. Experience with VPX, CPCI, VME bus system design/ build

· Exposure to rugged military computer systems and MIL-C-38999 connectors

· Experience with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 and or DO-160 test requirements

· Basic familiarity with analog and RF signaling

 

Education/Experience: Prefer some form of basic electronics or electro-mechanical training via formal trade school, OJT, military or other avenue. However, if your experience and capabilities meet our needs, you already have the skill sets.
