Job DescriptionJob Description

The Electronics Technician owns analog/digital board production for new meters. Handles component procurement, inventory; analog/digital board programming and set up; kitting for board assembly. Also handles the more complex customer repairs involving electronic component troubleshooting and replacement. The Technician should be capable of performing meter characterization and calibration though not the primary function. Document and maintain accurate records of numbers of assembly and repair activity along with troubleshooting, failure analysis and scrap information. Works with Engineering for obsolescence issues, maintaining version integrity; reviews work to meet quality standards. Applicant should be able to:

·         Read and interpret electronic schematics and engineering diagrams.

·         Troubleshooting analog and digital boards using oscilloscopes,  and multimeters.

·         Willing to learn and adapt to change.

·         Comfortable with basic computer interface.

·         Remove and install electronic components as required to repair damaged boards using basic soldering equipment.

 

Preferred Qualifications (you are still strongly encouraged to apply if you are teachable)

Degree in electronics from technical school or equivalent military training with prior analog and digital experience

At least three years of experience in electronic assembly and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters

Ability to use hand soldering iron to solder and inspect to IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards. A current or past solder certification preferred

Punctuality (attendance is vital for this role, so reliability is crucial)

Attention to detail

Time management and organization skills

Ability to perform basic mechanical assembly and cable/wire fabrication, using small hand tools
