Data Center Technician (L1 and L2)


Overview:

As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting all console connectivity issues, server power supply related issues, and network connectivity issues. You will also be responsible for assisting less experienced colleagues with the installation and troubleshooting of new SSD’s and NVME’s into existing servers.


These positions will work directly with Associate to Senior level Data Center Technicians responsible for all hardware break fix activities to ensure SLA’s and KPI’s are met. This position will also work with our full time Engineers as points of escalation.


Primary Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform basic hardware diagnostic and troubleshooting of servers. Escalating complex issues to Senior Data Center Technicians as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot basic Linux OS level issues on all servers.
  • Installation of new SSD’s and NVME’s into existing servers.
  • Assist our engineers in troubleshooting all autobuild (Linux Kickstart) nodes that do not build properly (stragglers).
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of all network connectivity issues at the physical layer (port flapping, port down, link issues, etc.).
  • Resolution of manually-generated tickets through cross-functional collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Process (identify, tag, and prepare) all server nodes ready for decommissioning and prepare them for our third party ITAM vendor to pick up.
  • Assist with any hardware installations that do not fall within the scope of work for quarterly organic growth.
  • Secondary Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Assisting Level 3 Data Center Technicians in OS level troubleshooting and network troubleshooting.
  • Ensure our data center house rules are being followed and immediately report any concerns to leadership.
  • Ensure our data center cleanliness, any issues with cleanliness must be reported to leadership.


Basic Qualifications

  • 2-4+ years in a Data Center Engineering Role
  • 2+ years network cabling experience
  • 1+ years Linux troubleshooting experience.
  • 2+ years server hardware troubleshooting experience. Preferred Qualifications



Compensation & Benefits:

$35 - 40/hr W2 (L1) and $43-50/hr W2 (L2)

  • 1.5x OT (hours over 40 per week)
