Job Description

A leading MSO with national brand recognition is currently seeking a new VP of Marketing to join their team. This company has several hubs and the job will require 50% travel . The VP of Marketing will lead the Marketing Department, developing and executing an innovative, omni-channel strategy focused on brand differentiation, customer acquisition, and retention. They will drive sales growth, brand awareness, and consumer loyalty, while also overseeing merchandising, licensing, and promotional strategies for non-regulated products. Additionally, they will manage the marketing budget, analyze ROI, and foster a high-performing team.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the omni-channel marketing strategy to drive traffic, transactions, and customer engagement in all retail channels with marketing initiatives and programs including loyalty, digital campaigns, sampling, brand communication, product and category navigation, point-of-sale, promotions and events
  • Create and execute innovative marketing strategies and integrated campaigns to drive brand awareness, customer adoption, and retention while overseeing all tactics from conception to driving final results.
  • Present complex marketing campaign initiatives to executive stakeholders and manage budget
  • Participate in the creation and the development for a long-term strategic plan for the brand portfolio of regulated products including the creation of a consumer recognizable house brand for wholesale
  • Create new product launch plans, working with internal teams and external agencies on all launch materials and tactics
  • Manage all aspects of the brand proposition, including tracking industry trends, competitor's and customer experience metrics.
  • Manages 5+ subordinate managers who supervise a total of 10+ employees in the sales and marketing department, Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints.



Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 12+ years of marketing experience in a progressive retail/brand environment. Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields is preferred but not required. Ideal candidate will have experience working with a vertically integrated retailer in the CPG space
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Cannabis experience is ideal.
  • Brand, Marketing, Retail, CPG, Merchandising experience is ideal.
