The Director, Financial Operations and Budgeting - Physician Organization will be responsible for:
  1. Managing accounting managers and analysts of the PO Finance department, supporting Foundation accounting and reporting functions. This includes reviewing work completed by the financial analyst team and analyzing actual-to-budget variances for the PO and Foundations.
  2. Partnering with various departments within the PO and Foundations in the development of revenue-related information, including volume, RVUs, budgeted statistics, payor mix analyses, and gross and net revenue for the budget cycle. Collaborating with Foundation and Hospital leaders to develop annual Foundation operating budgets and long-term forecasts to support strategic planning or the Enterprise Capital Reserve Policy.
  3. Providing management oversight over the Budgeting and Planning system, including the monthly data validation process from source systems into the Oracle planning application for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Collaborating with Oracle support staff on system support, upgrades, or scheduled system downtime.
  4. Serving as a subject matter expert representing the PO/Foundations in implementing and supporting an Enterprise Resource Planning system to promote integration and gain efficiency. Cataloging all key processes, partnering with BCH finance on general ledger and workflow alignment, and leading change management across the Foundations. Developing and maintaining training materials for all finance functions pertinent to the PO.
  5. Reviewing and analyzing monthly financial results for the PO and Foundations and providing recommendations.
  6. Providing oversight over the PO Treasury team, including the Budget and investment manager and analysts that perform investment accounting and analysis of the PO Pooled Investment and PO Group Trust funds. Working with BCH Investment Office to align investment holdings with BCH Investment policies. Managing all fund accounting, coordinating investor sub-accounting with a third-party custodian, and overseeing annual financial statements audits.
  7. Partnering with Foundation leadership on developing and maintaining service line reporting and operational profit and loss presentations for chiefs, committees, and senior leadership.
  8. Applying GAAP to accounting treatment for complex transactions supporting the financial statements.
  9. Providing oversight in the preparation of monthly financial close presentations to affiliated Foundations’ management, including active participation in monthly close meetings. Collaborating with Foundation management on accounting questions and providing technical accounting guidance.
  10. Overseeing the external audit process to facilitate a smooth and efficient year-end audit process for the PO and Foundations.
  11. Assisting PO and Foundation senior management with ad hoc requests.
  12. Providing leadership to staff in the PO Finance department. Inspiring, motivating, and coaching others to perform well.
  13. Performing other duties as assigned.

To qualify, you must have:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in the field of Finance, Accounting, Healthcare or closely related field is required.
  2. 10 -15 years of relevant professional experience in healthcare financial management, accounting and budgeting is required.
  3. Public accounting experience or serving in a financial managerial role at a large academic medical center is a plus.
