Job Description

VERTEX is seeking an experienced field technician trained and accredited in Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and Asbestos Inspections and Monitoring to join our growing Industrial Hygiene & Building Sciences practice in our Weymouth/Boston, MA office.

Core Responsibilities

  • Visit client sites to conduct tasks related to project monitoring, Asbestos/Lead surveys, IAQ/mold assessments, and/or other project assignments
  • Perform air monitoring duties for asbestos abatement activities - from inspection to abatement oversight and monitoring
  • Analyze laboratory and engineering data
  • Prepare portions of Asbestos Survey and clearance reports, IAQ/Mold assessments, and/or other technical assessment reports
  • Maintain consistent communication of project progress with the assigned project manager from start to finish of the project.
  • Maintain assessment and monitoring equipment 
  • Prepare Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for sites.
  • Meet utilization and other performance metrics 
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills preferred
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to perform exceptionally under fast-paced conditions
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to meet deadlines both internally and externally
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed - may include frequent weekend or 2nd shift work)
  • Ability/willingness for frequent regional travel

Preferred:

  • Prior work experience in Indoor Air Quality testing preferred, though not required. 
  • OSHA Health and Safety Certifications. Training will be provided by the company - successful completion required
