Purpose and Scope:

This position aims to perform the full range of Brand and Communication Manager duties and responsibilities. The incumbent of this position is expected to perform at a level considered to be senior in the marketing field, setting the strategic and operational direction for the marketing function at our company in dialogue with our broader growth organization.


Overview:

We are seeking a Brand and Communication Manager to join our team. We’re a rapidly growing government digital services firm, with work primarily in Health and National Security. We’re looking for an experienced lead to drive brand awareness and create impactful marketing content. This position will be at the core of our marketing strategy, creating meaningful case studies, beautiful presentations, and bringing consistency to our voice as we build trust with government customers, job candidates, and potential teaming partners. Our growth organization is centered on a strong business development process, and we’re looking to build a similarly strong marketing operation. The ideal candidate will be someone ready to get hands-on developing and executing marketing strategies that drive engagement and growth – while setting the foundation for long-term expansion of our marketing team.

Familiarity with government contracting and software development are a must. The rest is flexible for the right candidate: we need someone who understands the business, with enough familiarity with the technical aspects of software development to be a convincing spokesperson for the brand.


Responsibilities:

  • Communication Strategy: Create comprehensive communication plans and content roadmaps that align with our business goals and objectives, targeting potential customers, partners, and employees across various verticals.
  • Content Creation and Management: Oversee the development of high-quality technical content, including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, press releases, and multimedia assets that resonate with our target audience.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing materials and channels. We’re not looking for high fidelity graphic design, but facility applying brand guidelines to documents like case studies or PowerPoint presentations will be critical.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights. Use data to inform marketing strategies.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and analyze multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, social media, email, content, events) to drive traffic, engagement, and conversions.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of communication activities, using metrics and KPIs to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities. This is a longer-term need.
Requirements:

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Brand Management, Marketing, Journalism, or similar domain. Some combination of experience in government digital services or software development organizations is also required.

Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills. We need someone with vision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. You should be able to talk and write conversationally about the technical and operational nuances software delivery.
  • Familiarity with branding and design. You won’t have to do graphic design yourself, but you need to be able to create beautiful documents, form persuasive opinions about graphics, and enforce brand standards.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, social media management, email marketing).
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data and derive actionable insights.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Leadership and team management experience. Demonstrated leadership is a must, team management is something we can work towards.

Work Environment:

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.
