We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of our injection molding manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the plant runs smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve production targets, optimize resources, and enhance operational efficiency.
    • Oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPI's) for operational efficiency.
  • Production and Quality Management:
    • Monitor production processes to ensure they are efficient and meet quality standards.
    • Implement and maintain quality control systems, conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Staff Management and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers, engineers, and production staff.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Develop and manage the plant's budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
    • Analyze financial reports, track expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability.
  • Maintenance and Equipment Management:
    • Oversee the maintenance of plant machinery and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and functioning optimally.
    • Manage the efficient use of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel.
    • Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate supply levels and minimizing excess stock.
  • Process Improvement and Innovation:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the plant.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
    • Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for optimization.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Develop and enforce safety policies, conduct safety training, and perform regular safety audits to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Customer and Supplier Relations:
    • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers, ensuring that products meet customer specifications and expectations.
    • Negotiate with suppliers for the best pricing and quality of materials and services.
  • Reporting and Communication:
    • Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance, including production metrics, financial performance, and improvement initiatives, to senior management.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including plant staff, senior management, and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a General Manager manufacturing role, with a strong track record of success in plant operations.
    • Extensive experience in production management, quality control, maintenance, and staff leadership.
  • Skills:
    • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
    • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools, with expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
    • Solid understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost control.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Certifications:
    • Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other relevant areas are a plus.
