Position Summary

Points North, the leading software company in the compliance and reporting space, is seeking a rainmaker to join its growing sales team. This dynamic role of Software Sales Specialist will be accountable for growing sales across the United States in focused niche markets. This dynamic sales leader will make things happen from Day 1. This role will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth and achieving/exceeding company sales goals. This individual will have documented, proven sales experience that exceeded expectations, strong problem-solving skills, and dynamic people skills. The ideal candidate will be driven by closing deals daily, a hunger for a never-ending flow of new leads, and experience in understanding how to sell Software as a Service. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate how their past success will transfer to Points North and how they will thrive in a growing, fast-paced, and agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relations

  • Manage sales territory, find solutions and implement creative sales strategies.
  • Build client relationships 
  • Tailor sales approach to account for differences in sales cycles, software capabilities, client profiles and product differences.
  • Articulately consult and sell to stakeholders in small, mid and large segment companies.
  • Use an effective sales approach to help sales prospects understand their overall need for compliance software solutions and deliver that value-based solution.
  • Listen and exhibit patience when encountering challenges and problems with complex prospect requirements.
  • Ensure successful implementation handoff.

 Lead Generation

  • Create and command a strong pipeline of leads and be able to successfully convert leads to sales on a consistent basis.
  • Utilize software to track and report client interactions, and stage of sales cycle.
  • Accurately provide sales forecasts to management based on a data-driven understanding of where prospects are in the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies, contacts and marketing information.

Planning and Goal Setting

  • Manage time and resources effectively to accomplish monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals by planning for and scheduling all required sales activities.
  • Maintain high standard relationships with internal stakeholders and external channel partners built through trust.
  • Understand root cause analysis and how to utilize internal tools to problem solve and create solutions.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years sales experience
  • Sales success within the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry
  • Selling through referral partners
  • Selling to small to mid size organizations
  • Formalized sales training

Required Skills

  • Experience selling HR/Compliance solutions
  • Expertise in HR software and technology
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum amount of oversight
  • Strong work ethic and passion for excellence
  • Hunter mentality
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Able to balance multiple projects and prioritize potentially competing needs
  • Detail-oriented and ability to handle multiple top priorities

  • Excellent facilitation skills and ability to influence collaboration, but not necessarily consensus
