As a Senior Accountant specializing in SEC Reporting, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely preparation of our external financial statements and reports in compliance with SEC regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC reporting requirements, and have a proven track record of successful financial reporting within a publicly traded company.
Responsibilities:
SEC Reporting:
- Lead the preparation and filing of the company's quarterly and annual reports on Form 10-Q and Form 10-K, respectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with SEC regulations.
- Stay abreast of new accounting pronouncements and SEC rules to ensure compliance.
Financial Statement Preparation:
- Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Work closely with external auditors to facilitate the quarterly and annual audit processes.
Internal Controls:
- Assist in the design and implementation of effective internal controls over financial reporting.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal controls, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
Technical Accounting:
- Research and provide guidance on complex accounting issues, including the adoption of new accounting standards and their impact on financial reporting.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various departments, including legal, tax, and investor relations, to gather necessary information for SEC filings.
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide training to finance and other departments on SEC reporting matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in SEC reporting within a publicly traded company or public accounting
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
