Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Central Sterile Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in sterile techniques, instrument identification, and surgical procedures. This role is critical in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in our surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sterilization and Disinfection:

    • Apply advanced knowledge of sterile techniques to ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and ready for use.
  • Instrument and Equipment Management:

    • Accurately identify, organize, and handle a variety of surgical instruments.
    • Maintain surgical equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition and promptly report any issues for repair.
  • Procedure Preparation:

    • Assist in the preparation for surgical procedures by organizing and sterilizing necessary instruments and supplies.
    • Ensure the availability of sterile supplies and equipment for surgical teams.
  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, including regulatory requirements for sterilization and equipment maintenance.
    • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in central sterile processing is required.
    • 2 years of experience is preferred, demonstrating advanced knowledge in sterile techniques and instrument handling.
  • Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Certifications:

    • Must hold a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in sterile techniques and instrument identification.
    • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and equipment management.
  • Language:

    • Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
