The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and promoting the mission of Goodwill. The Administrative Assisting will direct guests and/or callers to the appropriate GCT representative and assist with questions as needed. Clerical duties will include meeting support, data entry and general record keeping.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge guests immediately and direct them to the appropriate Goodwill representative.
  • Assist guests with questions.
  • Answer telephones, route incoming calls and deliver messages in a timely manner.
  • Process mail to include distribution both internal and external.
  • Coordinate purchasing office supplies.
  • Perform data entry tasks.
  • Sign for deliveries and routers in a timely manner.
  • Assist with various clerical duties, not limited to meeting support, maintaining records, retrieving information and produce correspondence.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Perform errands as requested.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented relationship with management and peers; encourage interactions between all departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to de-escalate heightened visitor situations and escalated caller situations.
  • Creative and flexible problem solving; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Moderate skill level of Microsoft Office products in a Windows environment.
  • Proficiency in English and basic math skills. Bilingual preferred.
  • Reliable transportation with valid driver license and proof of insurance with ability to work at either GRC or GCC as needed.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
  • The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
