Accounting Manager

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the accounting operations of Residential Treatment Centers, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Lastly, you will be responsible for the oversight and day-to-day management of the accounting team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
  • At least five (5) years of progressive accounting experience and three (3) years of managing a team.
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license in good standing in state of employment and be insurable by the designated carrier. Minimal travel to facilities and corporate as coordinated with the manager.

Preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Responsibilities:

  • Management:
    • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
    • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
    • Mentor and coach, a group of teammates to develop their technical and professional skills.
    • Communicate with the controller regularly on the status of items and any significant findings or issues.
    • Review and provide timely, constructive feedback to direct reports on their work.
  • Transactions:
    • Maintain the general ledger.
    • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
    • Ensure a timely and accurate accounting close each month.
    • Ensure that all relevant account reconciliations are performed each month.
    • Prepare monthly revenue journals and analysis of accounts receivable.
  • Reporting:
    • Issue timely and complete financial statements.
    • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to the controller.
    • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics to management.
    • Provide financial analyses as needed.
