Moorings Park is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing. The Assistant Director of Nursing has 24-hour accountability for care provided to residents including supervision of nursing personnel. The ADON is responsible for providing a system of care for residents in a manner and environment promoting maintenance and enhancement of each resident’s qualify of life and provides dignity and respect in full recognition of each resident’s individuality.

Contributions:

  • Assists in planning and guiding the professional development of the nursing staff, oversees, supervises and evaluates nursing interventions for residents, maintaining the standards of care.
  • Performs personnel management functions such as developing and maintaining departmental objectives, standards of nursing practice, the nursing policy and procedure manual, and written job descriptions for each level of nursing personnel
  • Acts as liaison between nursing units, and administration; plans and facilitates meetings and committees to handle resident care issues
  • Assists the Director of Nursing in preparation of the departmental budget with consideration to staffing, nursing service equipment and supply needs. Operates the department within budgetary guidelines.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and guidance; creating a working environment which promotes participation and works to retain and develop staff and utilizes the progressive discipline process
  • Works with Staffing Coordinator to ensure shifts have adequate nursing coverage to meet facility/resident requirements as well as meeting all relevant regulations.
  • Identifies staff development needs and assists with implementation of comprehensive staff development program in conjunction with Staff Development Coordinator.
  • Functions as the direct supervisor of the designated clinical programs; updating, reviewing, and providing input to the Director of Nursing
  • Participates in planning, development and evaluation of nursing department programs and projects for achieving/sustaining nursing care delivery excellence

Job Requirements:

  • Currently licensed in the State of Florida as RN.
  • 5 years nursing experience with progressive responsibility for supervisory duties.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in medical-surgical nursing.
  • Geriatric nursing experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
