Balcones Recycling East is a leader in the municipal recycling industry. Balcones Recycling was established in 2003 and soon became the cornerstone of the New York City curbside recycling program. In addition to NYC, Balcones Recycling now serves several NJ municipalities and counties, and in recent years has expanded operations to Florida. We are an operations-intensive business, processing large tonnages at multiple facilities, producing sorted commodities for the recycled materials market.

We are currently looking for a Plant Manager to join the team

****Must have the ability to RELOCATE to the Philadelphia area****

Job Summary

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensure that the business is well-coordinated and productive by managing procedures and coaching its team.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Liaise with supervisors to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress
  • Supervise staff from different departments and provide constructive feedback
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
  • Revise and formulate policies and promote their implementation
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners and vendors
  • Advise plant supervisors on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, training etc.
  • Adhere to company policies in the area of Safety, Health, Environment and Community. Must have a general understanding of OSHA and relevant regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administrations, industrial engineering or related field
  • Previous managerial skills in a diverse, fast-paced manufacturing/production environment
  • Excellent mechanical ability and strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work from a set of written instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must speak and understand English; Spanish speaking is a plus
  • Ten or more years of experience in managing manufacturing plants
  • ****Must have the ability to RELOCATE to the Philadelphia area****

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Work location/setting:

  • Training in Millville, NJ and from other tri-state area facilities but will relocate to the Philadelphia area
  • Traveling to facilities throughout the Tri-State area
