Position Title: Plant Engineer
Reports To: Plant Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in capital projects and have significant experience within the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical manufacturing industries. This role is critical in ensuring that our manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Capital Projects: Lead and manage capital projects from inception through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the specified quality standards.
Maintenance and Reliability: Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of plant equipment and systems.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in manufacturing operations. Implement best practices to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Technical Support: Provide technical support and expertise to the operations team, troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying solutions.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and contractors, managing contracts and ensuring service delivery meets expectations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of engineering projects, maintenance activities, and process changes. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments including production, quality assurance, and supply chain to support overall plant operations and strategic goals.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant engineering role.
Proven experience managing capital projects.
Prior experience in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical manufacturing industry is required.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, SAP).
