JOB SUMMARY

The Scheduler-Planner is responsible for developing and preparing project schedules for mid to large scale projects, as per the project’s contract, scope of work, and budget requirements. As well as the implementation and effectiveness of the project schedule. The Project Scheduler’s role will concentrate on continued development and maintenance of the Schedule and working closely with project team members, which may include project managers, superintendents and estimators. The Scheduler will also have the ability to process, organize, and deliver all the elements necessary for an installation work package, after the work is started, allowing construction crews to perform their work safely, efficiently, and effectively. The Project Scheduler duties will vary as required to support the Project Schedule.

JOB DUTIES

  • Creat and maintain project schedule using current project systems tool (Primavera P6).
  • Interface, as needed with client representatives to communicate and receive schedule update information.
  • Assist with preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Analyzes project specifications and work load capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine tools and human resource requirements.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for the project team according to previously established guidelines, sequences and lead times.
  • Confers with project managers and engineers to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Various other duties as requested by management
  • Integrate subcontractor schedule into Master Schedule.
  • Provide timely and accurate updating of project schedules.
  • Resource loading and analysis of data into schedules as required – Primavera.
  • Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with project staff.
  • Development of Baseline Schedules.
  • Manages the development of the overall CPM schedule and assures coordination with the Project Superintendent and the procurement schedule with the Project Engineer.
  • Monitoring & maintaining the quality of schedule reflection files.
  • Assist in weekly / monthly project schedule updates with the project team and Subcontractors.
  • Assist the project team in fragmenting the project schedule when required.
  • Provides insight to the Project Manager concerning schedule updates as to critical path and near critical path activities, and other potential issues with the project schedule.
  • Assist Project Managers in creating short-term schedules, monitor such schedules to determine impact on master schedule, and help in formulating actions to correct scheduling problems.
  • Assist Project Managers in the development of delay claim impacts.
  • Assist Project Managers in the development of recovery schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of project planning and scheduling experience.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 scheduling.
  • Mechanical construction experience
  • Ability to read P&IDs, Electrical Single Lines, and General Arrangements
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Perform functions efficiently and accurately with little direct supervision.
  • Experience in creating, managing and analyzing construction project schedules.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work well within a deadline driven environment.
  • Perform functions efficiently and accurately.
  • Professional attitude and always conduct oneself in a positive manner.
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Must be able to perform in a fast paced, changing environment.
