Benefits Analyst

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Benefits

Reports to: Benefits Manager

Position Summary: Assists with the day-to-day administration of the firm’s benefits for all employees. Performs a variety of administrative duties in support of the Benefits Manager. Maintains positive contact with attorneys and support staff and sustains confidentiality of personnel and firm matters. HR/Benefits experience is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: “Essential functions” are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.

  • Responsible for processing and reconciliation of monthly benefit billing with vendors and accounting.
  • Maintain the benefits and wellness budget.
  • Submit check requests/reimbursements for all department expenses.
  • Coordinate transfer of data to external vendors, auditors, and consultants.
  • Assist with Workers’ Compensation, Long Term Disability and Life claim filing, as needed.
  • Administer benefits enrollments, terminations, and employee status changes in HR/Benefit systems.
  • Assist employees regarding benefit issues and questions.
  • Assist in the development of the communication for new hires, benefit changes, open enrollment, and COBRA; may involve creating documents, webinars, presentations, etc.
  • Maintain portal pages and firm calendar for all benefit and wellness events and updates.
  • Coordinate monthly wellness lunch & learns.
  • Various administrative tasks such as managing incoming/outgoing mail, scheduling conference rooms for meetings, maintain calendar, filing, copying and scanning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Close attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks as well as prioritize tasks and assignments appropriately; results oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service and consistent follow-up.
  • Model a high level of accountability and personal integrity; able to communicate across the firm openly and with respect; handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Must have extensive experience and be skilled in the use of programs such as Outlook, Adobe PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
