Role Summary/Purpose:

The Quality Technician will provide quality assurance and technical support through testing, inspection, and auditing processes for incoming and outgoing products to meet the quality standards required by our company. Ensure that the product meets the customer’s requirements (both internal and external) at each stage of its manufacturing process, carrying out relevant testing and where necessary take corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues. Report quality issues data, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Be proficient in performing inspecting all areas such as incoming, in-process inspection, and final inspection for all product lines.
  • Follow standard processes/procedures regarding non-conformance identification, containment, documentation, and disposition for defects found at all stages of the business.
  • Knowledge of standard QMS systems and document control.
  • Accurately measure product dimensions to examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
  • Expert level understanding and practical experience using standard quality measurement tools.
  • Perform all aspects of the job in a timely manner.
  • Perform, document, and report on all inspections on critical or identified parts.
  • Assist with preparation, scheduling and conducting of internal quality audits.
  • Develop and analyze top defect trends both internal and external.
  • Report any near misses, accidents, or injuries while on the job.
  • Assist with identifying changes necessary the QMS systems and processes based on operator feedback.
  • Demonstrate understanding of basic assembly activities.
  • Lead any other project/activity based on the business need, assigned by manager.
  • Lead cells in implementing quality improvement ideas based on rejections, data, and/or audit findings.
  • Troubleshoot electronic or mechanical rejections to determine the cause of a specific failure.
  • Investigate any quality issues to identify root cause and raise appropriate corrective action paperwork and ensure issues are addressed and resolved.
  • Train operators on processes, changes to processes, compliance and/or other inspection skills as directed by management.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Forms.
  • Knowledgeable in Fusion/Sync Software; generate reports based on quality data from reject logs.

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience in manufacturing industry with a strong focus on quality.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills.
  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of electronic concepts -such as current, voltage, PCBs.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to use measuring devices.
  • Willingness to learn and use specific Software to interface with our products.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Control preferred.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • The position is performed in a manufacturing facility with fast paced production environment subject to minimal weather-related variations, moderate noise levels and exposure to coolants and other equipment fluids.
  • Production / Warehouse environment work with regular pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending, and other physical activities within an industrial environment.
  • Position requires regular lifting, pulling, and pushing of up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs. and apply up to 100 lbs. of torque.
  • Ability to stand un-assisted for up to 12 hours a day.
  • Extended periods of mental concentration working with mechanical and electrical equipment requiring constant safety focus.
